Braves' Holmes to DL, Lopez off

CHICAGO - The Atlanta Braves put right-handed reliever Darren Holmes on the 15-day disabled list Monday and activated right-hander Albie Lopez. <br> <br> Holmes lacerated his right thumb when he stumbled over a Montreal sidewalk curb Friday afternoon. Holmes was 2-1 with one save and a 1.51 ERA in 35 appearances. He is on the DL retroactive to July 7. <br> <br> Lopez was put on the DL on June 27 with tendinitis in his right shoulder. He is 1-4 with a 5.01 ERA in 15 games, including four starts.
