Internet router moving headquarters from Seattle to Atlanta

ATLANTA - A company that routs Internet traffic says it will move its headquarters to Atlanta from Seattle by year's end. <br>

Internap Network Services Corporation made the announcement Wednesday. <br>
<br>
As part of the move, Internap said it will reduce 135 positions from its 465-employee base. Depending on how many employees choose to move to Georgia, the company might hire up to 130 people. <br>
<br>
President and chief executive Greg Peters said, ``With the availability of industry-specific professionals as well as a business-friendly environment, Atlanta provides an ideal location for Internap's continued long-term growth and development.'' <br>
<br>
The company will begin operations in its new headquarters in October. <br>
<br>
The Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, which helped prompt the move, says Internap will receive job-tax credits for the number of employees it brings to Georgia. <br>
<br>
Internap was founded in Seattle in . The company operates in large markets in the United States, Europe and Japan. <br>
<br>
Internap shares fell 4 cents to close at 30 cents today on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange.
