WOODSTOCK - A woman who was accused of pointing a gun at another mother after a youth basketball game last winter has been banned from the games for a year.
Julie Box, 37, pleaded no contest Monday to a disorderly conduct charge, Cherokee County court records show. Box must pay a $250 fine and serve a year of probation, records show.
She also cannot have contact with the victim, attend youth basketball games, or possess a gun or be in a home or car where a gun is located.
In February, Box and parent Nancy Horton argued after their 11-year-old daughters were involved in a shoving match, according to the sheriff's officer. A deputy reported that Box pointed a .38-caliber revolver in Horton's general direction.
Box contended that she put the gun on the seat of her car.
