VALDOSTA - Authorities in south Georgia have arrested two suspects who fled after a routine traffic stop on Interstate 75.
The Lowndes County Sheriff's Department says Chad Huff and Cynthia House left their homes in Missouri and headed to Jacksonville, Florida, to visit House's mother.
In Valdosta, a deputy pulled them over for a seatbelt violation. Authorities say both Huff - who was wanted on a parole violation - and House fled the car. Both were in custody after a five-hour chase.
Authorities say House managed to travel barefoot through two and a half miles of swamp.
Huff has been charged with obstruction and several traffic violations. House is charged with obstruction of an officer and a seat belt violation.
