Silverbacks competitive in loss to MLS's Burn

CLARKSTON - The Atlanta Silverbacks fared well in their first competitive match against a Major League Soccer team, but the Dallas Burn prevailed in the end. <br> <br> Antonio Martinez scored in overtime as the Burn escaped for a 2-1 win last night in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. <br> <br> Martinez took a crossing pass from Ronnie O&#39;Brien on the left baseline and drilled it into the top right corner in the 13th minute of overtime. It was his second goal of the game. <br> <br> Atlanta outshot the Burn 7-4 in the first half and got a goal from Velko Iotov that stood until the 83rd minute when Martinez forced overtime with a goal from 20 yards out. <br> <br> Dallas plays host to the Colorado Rapids in the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals August 7th.
