Silverbacks competitive in loss to MLS's Burn

CLARKSTON - The Atlanta Silverbacks fared well in their first competitive match against a Major League Soccer team, but the Dallas Burn prevailed in the end. <br>

Antonio Martinez scored in overtime as the Burn escaped for a 2-1 win last night in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. <br>
<br>
Martinez took a crossing pass from Ronnie O'Brien on the left baseline and drilled it into the top right corner in the 13th minute of overtime. It was his second goal of the game. <br>
<br>
Atlanta outshot the Burn 7-4 in the first half and got a goal from Velko Iotov that stood until the 83rd minute when Martinez forced overtime with a goal from 20 yards out. <br>
<br>
Dallas plays host to the Colorado Rapids in the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals August 7th.
