ATLANTA - Georgia Power Company crews worked throughout the night to restore power to thousands who lost electricity when thunderstoms rolled through metro Atlanta and north Georgia.
Georgia Power spokesman Tal Wright says 35,000 customers were without power in the metro area at the height of the storm about 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Another 21,000 customers lost power elsewhere in Georgia.
Wright says that number is down to 75 customers in metro Atlanta and about 40 more in Cartersville in northwest Georgia.
Crews expect to restore power to those customers in the next few hours.
