Officers checking if Cobb slaying tied to one in DeKalb

MARIETTA - A Cobb County convenience store clerk was shot and killed during a robbery Thursday and police are investigating whether there is a connection to a similar incident in nearby DeKalb County, where another store clerk was slain during a robbery Monday. <br> <br> Cobb police spokesman Dana Pierce said the body of 52-year-old Jeffrey Stephenson of Marietta was discovered by a mother and her son shortly before 4 a.m. <br> <br> Stephenson, who was shot multiple times, had worked for two years at the store, which is in a commercial area surrounded by upscale subdivisions. <br> <br> Fifty-two-year Mohammed Abedin was shot to death at a DeKalb convenience store shortly before midnight Monday. <br> <br> Pierce said Cobb County would compare notes with DeKalb to see if there are any similarities in the method of operation.
