ATLANTA - Hundreds of Delta Air Lines flights were delayed across the country Friday because of a company computer malfunction.

The problem was fixed after 75 minutes, but travel plans were expected to remain snarled throughout the night.

Delta spokeswoman Peggy Estes said the afternoon glitch affected both arrivals and departures, since departing planes were stuck at gates and arriving flights had nowhere to park.

She said it was not immediately clear which systems had failed or why. Reservation agents also were unable to book flights during the outage.

Estes said, ``It's going to take a little while to get the system back on schedule because of these delays.''

Atlanta-based Delta is the nation's third-largest carrier, with service to 210 U.S. cities and 45 countries.
