MACON - Some people say black athletes and women are consistently snubbed for honors at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in favor of white football players from major colleges.
Of 310 hall of famers inducted since 1956, only 21 are women, and 42 are black. Sports such as basketball and baseball are dwarfed by football, which is allowed more of the seven inductees each year than any other sport.
NBA great Dominique Wilkins, boxing world champion Sugar Ray Robinson, three-time Olympic gold medalist Katrina McClain and Negro League star Josh Gibson still haven't been inducted in the hall.
