New agreement for workers and Schweitzer-Manduit

ALPHARETTA - Hourly employees of the Alpharetta-based Schweitzer-Manduit International have ratified a new collective bargaining agreement. <br> <br> The agreement, signed Friday, ends a strike that began at the corporation&#39;s Spotswood, New Jersey, paper mill on June 24. <br> <br> Some of the hourly employees returned to work Sunday. The mill is expected to be fully operational by Wednesday. <br> <br> The company said the new collective bargaining agreement has a term of about 25 months, expiring July 28, 2004. <br> <br> A spokesman was unavailable to discuss the terms of the agreement or how many employees are affected by the contract. <br> <br> The Spotswood mill primarily produces cigarette paper used in the North American cigarette industry. The number of employees at the plant and the terms of the new contract were not released.
