FORT STEWART - Fort Stewart officials invited federal auditors to the base to help an investigation of Army credit-card fraud. But instead, they say the auditors criticized them in a report.

The General Accounting Office was looking into ways Army credit cards are used to make inappropriate or unreasonably expensive purchases.

Fort Stewart showed GAO investigators a warehouse full of office furniture as a bad example.
