CHATSWORTH - About 20 churches have formed a group opposing alcohol sales in Murray County in north Georgia.

County voters will be asked in the August 20 primary whether they want beer and wine sales where they live.

Murray County Board of Elections chair Connie Winkler says the question on the ballot is a public opinion poll. The results will not become law.

County Commissioner Tyson Haynes says he will use the opinion poll to let him know what voters are thinking.
