GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO - Investigators are continuing search for a missing girl at a landfill where her mother's body was found last week.
Nearly a dozen people endured foul odors, high winds and searing heat as they sifted through tons of garbage for 6-year-old Abby Blagg, who disappeared last fall.
Investigators remain hopeful but have found no clues since they identified the body of Abby's mother, 34-year-old Jennifer Blagg, in the dump on Wednesday. Police said she had been shot to death.
Jennifer Blagg and Abby disappeared November 13 from the family's home in Grand Junction. Michael Blagg told authorities he returned home from work to find a pool of blood in the master bedroom and his wife and daughter gone.
Blagg was arrested Wednesday at his mother's home in Georgia for investigation of the murder of his wife.
Sheriff Riecke Claussen said trash found near Jennifer Blagg's body came from the manufacturing company where Michael Blagg used to work.
Authorities said it could take weeks to finish sorting through the seven-thousand tons of trash in the search area at the landfill.
