Henry L. Murray III was found shot to death Thursday moments after leaving the Mom & Pop's store. He was shot twice and pronounced dead at the scene, Deputy Coroner Mark Bowen said.
Deon Maurice Johnson, 23, was arrested Friday and charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, Richmond County sheriff's Maj. Ken Autry said.
Investigators said Thursday they did not know the details of the argument that led to Murray's death, but he said it appeared to be a family matter. They said they still have not recovered a murder weapon.
Johnson will face a preliminary hearing at Richmond County civil court within the next two days.
