TIFTON - Orgill, Inc., a worldwide distributor of hardware products, will build a major expansion of its Georgia Distribution Center, investing more than $10 million and creating up to 200 new jobs, Gov. Roy Barnes said Friday.
Orgill currently employs more than 200 people at the Tifton facility. Company officials said the expansion will more than double the shipping capacity of the facility.
The company has indicated it will use Georgia's Quick Start Training Program as employment increases. Construction is slated to begin this summer with completion expected in the first quarter of 2003.
``This announcement is proof that our efforts to expand opportunity in rural Georgia are working,'' Barnes said.
