Hardware distributor to expand Tifton center

TIFTON - Orgill, Inc., a worldwide distributor of hardware products, will build a major expansion of its Georgia Distribution Center, investing more than $10 million and creating up to 200 new jobs, Gov. Roy Barnes said Friday. <br> <br> Orgill currently employs more than 200 people at the Tifton facility. Company officials said the expansion will more than double the shipping capacity of the facility. <br> <br> The company has indicated it will use Georgia&#39;s Quick Start Training Program as employment increases. Construction is slated to begin this summer with completion expected in the first quarter of 2003. <br> <br> ``This announcement is proof that our efforts to expand opportunity in rural Georgia are working,&#39;&#39; Barnes said.
