ATLANTA - Seventeen children at a YMCA summer camp were treated for respiratory illness following a chlorine leak at the indoor swimming pool.
It happened yesterday at about 2 p.m. when a chemical agent used to clean the area around a swimming pool reacted with the chlorine.
The building was evacuated and the children were taken to three area hospitals after they began coughing and complaining of breathing problems. No one was seriously injured.
The children were in the second day of camp at the Southwest Family YMCA in metro Atlanta.
