ROSWELL - Scott Parel of Augusta, Thomas Levet of France and Ken Duke of Boca Raton, Fla., qualified for the U.S. Open on Tuesday. <br>

Parel shot a pair of 6-under-par 66s for a 132 total at Ansley Golf Club's Settindown Creek course in suburban Atlanta. <br>

Levet, a two-time winner on the European Tour, had rounds of 69 and 70, while Duke finished third in the 40-player field with scores of 72 and 69. <br>
<br>
All three advanced to play in the U.S. Open, which begins June 13 at Bethpage State Park in New York. <br>
<br>
Among those who failed to qualify were Georgia Tech's Troy Matteson, who won the NCAA men's championship on Saturday. He struggled to a 147 with rounds of 74 and 73. <br>
<br>
Another Georgia Tech golfer, Kris Mikkelsen, was the third alternate after shooting 146. Clemson's D.J. Trahan was the second alternate at 142. <br>
<br>
Danny Yates of Atlanta, a two-time Walker Cup captain and team member and the 1992 U.S. Mid Amateur champion, failed to qualify. He shot consecutive rounds of 76 on the 7,119-yard layout.
