Shrimping seasons begins this week

BRUNSWICK - The commerical food shrimping season begins Wednesday at 7 a.m. in Georgia and South Carolina territorial waters, which extend three miles offshore into the Atlantic Ocean. <br>

The Wednesday opening affects commerical trawlers and recreational shrimpers using cast nets and beach sienes. <br>
<br>
The shrimping industry has been hard hit by the ongoing drought, winter's freezing tempratures and high fuel prices. <br>
