Authorities say 47-year-old Roy Steven Grindle was arrested in Forsyth by Monroe County authorities Tuesday night.
Anderson sheriff's Captain Dale McCard says his officers told Monroe County officials Grindle might be at his sister's home.
McCard says Grindle was arrested without incident.
Grindle is charged with murder in the Sunday shooting of 20-year-old Garnell Simpson, who lived with Grindle and his 16-year-old daughter, Sheena Grindle.
Deputies say Simpson was shot once in the chest after a brief argument between him and Grindle.
McCard says a motive for the argument has not been determined.
