12 sentenced in child prostitution case

ATLANTA - Twelve people have been sentenced to federal prison terms of up to six-and-a-half years on multiple charges relating to child prostitution, the U.S. Attorney&#39;s Office said Friday. <br> <br> The 12 were prosecuted under the federal Racketeering and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) act, the first time the law has been used in a child prostitution case, U.S. Attorney William S. Duffey Jr. said. <br> <br> ``The children of Atlanta are safer today because these abusers of vulnerable young girls are serving significant sentences,&#39;&#39; Duffey said. <br> <br> An investigation by federal, state and local authorities found that the pimps provided girls as young as 10 with false identification and drugs. Some of them were transported to Tennessee, Alabama, Florida and other states for prostitution. <br> <br> They also were advertised over the Internet and traded among the pimps, who traveled together in groups, procured prostitutes for each other, and helped get each other&#39;s prostitutes out of jail, Duffey said. <br> <br> The defendants, who pleaded guilty to interstate prostituion, were sentenced Thursday and Friday. <br> <br> The sentences were: Linda Moore, 28, three years, nine months; Herman Gordon Hutson Jr., 32, three years, 10 months; Camari Burrough, 18, four years; Bryant Weaver Bell, 29, four years, six months; Sandy Bell and Eugene Burson Jr., 39, four years, nine months; Michael Davis, 45, Dominic Terry, 22, Dwayne Comer, 31, Deunbray Rucker, 27, and Leandray Herndon, five years; and Terrence Anderson, 29, six years, six months. <br> <br> Charles Floyd Pipkins, 55, also known as ``Sir Charles,&#39;&#39; and Andrew Moore Jr., 38, Linda Moore&#39;s husband, were convicted Feb. 6 after a two-and-a-half week trial. They will be sentenced July 15, along with Terrance Ramsay, 23, who pleaded guilty.
