Veteran journalist Katherine McRae dies at 81

ROME - Veteran journalist Katherine Elliott Barnwell McRae, whose career included a 17 years with The Atlanta Constitution and The Atlanta Journal, died Friday of natural causes. She was 81. <br> <br> A native of Rome, McRae graduated from journalism school at the University of Missouri and went on to work as a reporter and science editor for the Atlanta newspaper. <br> <br> While in Atlanta, she met and married newspaperman Tom McRae. <br> <br> McRae also served as a correspondent for the Canadian news service Physicians Radio Network, covering medical news in the United States and wrote sports stories for The Refresher, Coca-Cola&#39;s trading magazine, where she was also an editor. <br> <br> Services will be held Tuesday. Survivors include a sister, Lilla Livingston Barnwell of Rome. <br> <br>
