ALBANY - A deputy for former DeKalb County Sheriff Sidney Dorsey is on the stand Monday as Dorsey's murder and racketeering trial resumes in Albany.
Saresa Beasley-Simmons told jurors that she first slept with Dorsey in 1997 while on a business trip to Washington, D.C. She says she decided to break off the affair in early 1998 but was told by Dorsey that ``it wasn't over until he said it was over.''
Beasley-Simmons sued Dorsey for sexual harassment a few days before he lost the 2000 Democratic primary runoff to Sheriff-elect Derwin Brown.
The trial began a week ago, with jurors getting a day off Friday.
Dorsey is accused of ordering the December 15, 2000, murder of Brown, who defeated Dorsey in an August runoff election after campaigning on a promise to clean up corruption in the sheriff's office.
