More bodies identified at Tri-State Crematory

DECATUR - Georgia&#39;s chief medical examiner said Tuesday that 12 more of the corpses discovered at the Tri-State Crematory in Noble have been identified through DNA testing, bringing the total number of 167. <br> <br> Authorities found 339 bodies on the property in northwest Georgia in February. <br> <br> Doctor Kris Sperry says the other 155 bodies were identified through ``conventional methods,&#39;&#39; such as old X-rays and other medical records. <br> <br> Crematory operator Ray Brent Marsh has been in jail in Walker County since February 17, accused of taking money for cremations he never performed. He is awaiting a bond hearing on some of the 294 felony charges against him. <br> <br> The families of the 12 people have been notified by the GBI. <br> <br> Sperry says the remains, which are being held by the Walker County coroner, will be turned over to a funeral home of each family&#39;s choice. <br> <br> The DNA testing has been done at the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory in Rockville, Maryland. People who had given bodies of family members to the Tri-State Crematory were asked to submit DNA samples to help with the comparison.
