Head-on wreck kills two people

Two people were killed in a head-on collision on an Albany road during a rainstorm in southwest Georgia. <br> <br> The accident occurred when 78-year-old Esten Phelps of Worth County swerved into oncoming traffic Tuesday Moultrie Road and struck a car driven by Albany Marine Jimmy Wheeler Junior. Dougherty County Police assistant chief Jeremy French said Wheeler&#39;s 23-year-old wife, Darice, and Phelps were killed. <br> <br> French said the couple&#39;s two girls -- 18 months and nine months -- were in the back seat. The girls and father were not seriously hurt. The three were treated and released from a local hospital.
