Woman killed during police chase in Carroll County

CARROLLTON - A 71-year-old Carroll County woman was killed Thursday after her vehicle was struck head-on by a pickup truck involved in a police chase. <br> <br> The collision happened after midnight on Georgia Highway 101 near Villa Rica. <br> <br> Carroll County Sheriff Terry Langley said deputies were chasing a teenager who drove off in his father&#39;s pickup truck after a fight. The teen ran a stop sign and hit the other vehicle head on, authorities said. <br> <br> The woman was identified as Mable McLean Cunningham of Villa Rica. She was the mother of Carroll sheriff&#39;s Deputy Earl Head. <br> <br> The teenager, whose name was not released, was ordered by a judge to the Paulding County Youth Detention Center following a hearing Thursday. He is scheduled for a court appearance July 11 and faces charges of vehicular homicide, motor vehicle theft, driving under the influence and battery, officials said.
