CUTHBERT - A former Randolph County school bus driver and bookkeeper, fired in 1999 because of charges he had sex with a student, is running for the Randolph County School Board. <br>

The district attorney who tried the case, Boyd Whigham, said Lee Morris Jordan, then 37, was acquitted by a Eufaula, Alabama, jury in June 2000 on charges of sodomy and enticing a child for immoral purposes. <br>

The charges were brought after a 15-year-old male student at Randolph-Clay High School said he had sex with Jordan on more than one occasion in motels in Eufaula. <br>
<br>
School Superintendent Bobby Jenkins said Jordan was found innocent, but the Randolph County School Board fired the 17-year employee because evidence indicated he had an improper relationship with the boy. <br>
<br>
Jordan, who will challenge incumbent Henry Cook in the August 20 primary, did not return telephone calls seeking comment.
