DELHI, NEW YORK - The upstate New York trucker accused in a bogus kidnapping case that drew national attention should have his old job back this week.

Shannon Jones spent two weeks in jail after a woman claimed that the 26-year-old Delaware County truck driver beat her and held her captive in his rig for months.

The accusations by his 24-year-old girlfriend were eventually proved false, and Jones was released from a Georgia jail last weekend.

His employer -- Arkansas-based Cannon Express -- said it expects to hire Jones back this week.

Jones was arrested after his traveling companion scrawled a message for help in a Tennessee rest room, claiming she was being held captive in his tractor-trailer.

Jones says he's ready to get back to his normal life -- but this time he plans to travel solo.
