White House Enron records subpoened

CAPITOL HILL - The first congressional subpoena going to the Bush White House concerns the Enron collapse. <br> <br> The vote in the Senate Governmental Affairs was strictly along party lines, after nearly two hours of political wrangling. <br> <br> Chairman Joseph Lieberman says the action comes after two months of stalling from the White House. <br> <br> He insists the committee is making reasonable requests for legitimate information about staff contacts with Enron officials. But the Connecticut Democrat claims the administration response has been completely inadequate. <br> <br> The ranking Republican on the committee calls the subpoena effort premature. Senator Fred Thompson says the White House is cooperating and is gathering documents. <br> <br> Thompson calls this a Democratic effort to have a ``look-see&#39;&#39; inside the White House to find some wrong-doing.
