CONYERS - A 16-year-old student was charged with carrying a weapon on the property of Heritage High School, the same school where a gunman opened fire on students nearly three years ago.
The latest incident occurred April 22nd following a baseball game on campus. The student's name was not released.
Rockdale County Deputy Myra Pearrell said after the game, the student allegedly displayed an air pistol and waved it at some students. Investigators determined he was standing within a one-thousand-foot perimeter of the campus, which is considered a school safety zone.
Pearrell said the gun resembled a .45 automatic.
