Authorities find 34 pounds of military explosives in river

MILLEDGEVILLE - The FBI is investigating almost 34 pounds of military explosives found by a teen-ager in the Oconee River, authorities said Wednesday. <br> <br> The TNT and C-4 were pulled from the river just off Ga. 112 after being discovered Sunday by a 15-year-old boy playing near a boat ramp, said H.H. Keadle, special agent of the of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. <br> <br> The explosives were turned over to the FBI, which is trying to trace the material, Keadle said. <br> <br> Keadle said the teen-ager saw bricks of the C-4 and TNT wrapped in plastic and showed his parents, who called police. <br> <br> Emergency ordnance disposal squads recovered approximately 12 pounds before dark on Sunday, and the rest was pulled from the river on Monday. <br> <br> Keadle said C-4 and TNT are almost exclusively used by the military.
