The home course advantage was not enough to overcome Richmond Academy's Mike Green who fired a low medalist round of 70. Savannah Christian's Toshi Hirata 71 was second best on the day.
Low score for the Elephants was turned in by Morgan Nix who shot a par 72. Taylor Sholes fired a 77 and John Henson carded a 79.
"Our school was the highest finishing public school in 7-AAA", said Gainesville Coach Bob Dillishaw, "Savannah Christian and Richmond Academy both have real strong teams...and they can put up some good numbers, so that says a lot about our program to finish third behind those two."
