Fayette County High student to return to school

FAYETTEVILLE - The Fayette County High School student suspended for having a machete in his truck will be allowed to return to school when his suspension ends. <br> <br> A disciplinary tribunal heard the case of 17-year-old Frank James Gilman Junior Monday. The teen-ager said he left the machete in his truck by mistake after doing a landscape job the night before. <br> <br> Gilman&#39;s attorney - Scott Ballard - said the panel ruled after the principal said he would like for Gilman to finish his ten-day suspension and then return to school. <br> <br> The tribunal voted to allow Gilman to return immediately after the suspension ends - which will be Tuesday morning. <br> <br> Ballard says he think everyone is pleased with the outcome. <br> <br> A spokeswoman for Fayette County schools says officials did their part in following the student code of conduct, which includes a zero-tolerance policy for any sort of weapon.
