CLEMSON, S.C. - Florida State used six runs in the fifth inning on its way to a 9-3 victory against Clemson in Atlantic Coast Conference action Friday. <br>

The Seminole (49-12, 16-6) rally began with runners on first and second and two outs. A throw to second beat out the runner, but the runner knocked the ball loose with his slide into the bag. Jerrod Brown's check swing found its way through the left side to bring two runners home and Tony Richie followed with a three-run homer to left that put the Seminoles up 7-2. <br>

Clemson (44-10, 16-6) got on board first when Khalil Greene extended his hitting streak to 20 games after taking a 3-2 pitch deep over the fence in left for a two-run homer. The blast was Greene's 20th of the year, tying him with teammate Jeff Baker for the team lead. <br>
<br>
Starter Matt Lynch (12-1) scattered 10 hits over 7 1/3 innings, allowing three runs and no walks while striking out three, to get the win for the Seminoles. <br>
<br>
Steve Reba (11-2) gave up nine runs in 5 1/3 innings for the loss.<br>

N.C. STATE 10, VIRGINIA 2<br>

RALEIGH, N.C. - Joe Gaelti went 4 for 5 with three RBI to pace North Carolina State to a 10-2 win over Virginia Friday. <br>

Phillip Davidson pitched a complete game and allowed only six hits for N.C. State (30-24, 5-17 Atlantic Coast Conference). <br>
<br>
Gaelti led off the third inning with his fifth home run of the season. <br>
<br>
Virginia (25-28, 8-14) jumped to a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth. Matt Street walked and Dan Street doubled. Robert Word sliced a double down the right field line to score both baserunners before he was thrown out trying to stretch the hit into a double. <br>
<br>
The Wolfpack's Brian Wright hammered a two-run homer in the fifth inning to account for the winning runs, making Cavaliers pitcher Shooter Starr (1-3) the loser. <br>

N.C. State put the game away with four runs in the bottom of the eighth. <br>

WAKE FOREST 14, DUKE 4<br>

DURHAM, N.C. - Stephen LeFaivre's two-run homer in the first inning launched the first of five home runs as third-ranked Wake Forest beat Duke 14-4 Friday. <br>
<br>
Duke took a 3-2 lead in the third as Brian Patrick singled to right field and Kevin Kelly followed with a homer. <br>
<br>
Jeff Ruziecki's homer in the fourth evened the score at 3-3. <br>
<br>
Duke pulled ahead 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth when Troy Caradonna scored on a groundout. <br>
<br>
Wake Forest reclaimed the lead for good when Ryan Braun hit a three-run homer off starting Duke pitcher Paul DeMarco (2-4), who took the loss. <br>
<br>
Demon Deacons pitcher Kyle Sleeth (12-0) earned the win.
