Arson fires strike lake homes

HARTWELL - Authorities in Hart County are investigating a rash of arson fires that have destroyed four vacation homes on Lake Hartwell and damaged four others. <br> <br> Investigators say the fires, which occurred early Friday, are believed to be the work of more than one person.<br> <br> Hart County Sheriff Mike Cleveland says veteran state arson investigators have told him that they&#39;ve never seen so many homes burned at one time. All of the houses were newly-constructed homes and in the Reed Creek area of Lake Hartwell; they were worth between $179,000 and $270,000 each. <br>
