Ernst & Young acquires Andersen office in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Ernst & Young LLP said Monday that it has acquired the Chattanooga, Tenn., office of Arthur Andersen LLP for an undisclosed amount. <br> <br> The Andersen office will be combined with the Chattanooga office of Ernst & Young. <br> <br> About 25 Andersen audit and tax professionals, practice support and administrative personnel will join Ernst & Young. The combined office will carry the Ernst & Young name. <br> <br> A decision has not yet been reached regarding the final location of the combined offices. The new Ernst & Young Chattanooga practice will have more than 45 audit and tax professionals serving clients in the Chattanooga area. <br> <br> Professional-services company Ernst & Young, which is based in New York, provides audit, tax, corporate finance and transaction services across all industries. <br> <br> Ernst & Young&#39;s announcement follows others last week that the company -- which has absorbed many of the overseas operations of accounting giant Andersen -- would also take over Andersen&#39;s operations in Virginia, Maryland, Pittsburgh and several Midwestern offices. <br> <br>
