Conviction in Hall man's death

GIBSON - A Glascock County jury convicted a Hoschton man of murder Wednesday for the September shooting death of a Hall County man at a hunting camp. <br> <br> James Thomas Mize, 58, was convicted of murder and three counts each of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime. <br> <br> Judge Roger W. Dunaway Jr. sentenced Mize to life in prison plus 25 years. <br> <br> William C. Smith of Flowery Branch was found dead Sept. 14 at a hunting camp outside of Mitchell, police said. Witnesses said Smith was shot four times in the chest following an argument with Mize. <br> <br> The jury rejected the charge of malice murder in favor of felony murder after nearly six hours of deliberations.
