2002 North Georgia Ryder Cup set to tee off Friday

The 9th Annual North Georgia Ryder Cup Matches will be held at the Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville May 24th through May 26th. <br> <br> Play will begin on Friday at 8:36am. The event will last over three days with a format similar to that of the US/European Ryder Cup Matches. <br> <br> Team captains are Jeff Gay, Red Team and <br> Frank Calvert, Blue Team.<br> <br> Team participants are for the red team: Jeb Bates, Ricky Brown, Josh Bunch, Tom Calvert, Jim Foote, Jeff Gay, Sam Hulsey, Jay Jacobs, Randy Page, Mark Powell, Lee Rogers, Jeff Skorput and Dick Valentine.<br> <br> For the blue team: Kevin Brown, Frank Calvert<br> Jerry Coker, Bradley Dunckel, Daryl Dunckel<br> Carlton Forrester, Jason Griffith, Gerry Grogan<br> Dale Gross, Walter Hope, Mark Montgomery, Joe Turner and Jimbo Wilkins.<br> <br> Friday and Saturday morning matches will be fourball and the afternoon matches will be alternate shot. Sunday will consist of head to head single matches. Either team will need 25 1/2 points to win.<br> <br> The North Georgia Ryder Cup Organizing Committee selected all players and invitations were mailed in January. The event is always held Memorial Day weekend.<br> <br> During the Ryder Cup Matches the Chattahoochee Golf Club will not be closed it will have normal tee times around the Ryder Cup Matches.<br>
