SAVANNAH - A high school student was killed and a man injured in a double shooting Thursday that police said took place on the girl's way to school.
The victims were shot in a car at about 8 a-m, but an infant in the back seat was not hurt. Fifteen-year-old Garian Dixon was killed. The driver, 28-year-old Leon Huckabee Junior, was in critical condition yesterday at a Savannah hospital.
Detectives are searching for a man witnesses saw running from the scene.
The commander of criminal investigations, Major Willie Lovett, said police ``have no motive at this point in the shooting.''
Windsor Forest High School principal Linda Herman described Dixon as a vivacious, ``typical little ninth-grade girl.''
Students were taking final exams when detectives arrived to the school around noon to tell administrators about Dixon's death.
