Man suspected in Barrow, Jackson burglaries arrested in Oconee

WATKINSVILLE - A Franklin County man arrested in Oconee County Sunday is also suspected in several unsolved burglaries in Barrow and Jackson counties.

Floyd Andrew Burrell, 37, of Lavonia was picked-up in Staham after he was identified by his car's license plate.

Two witnesses gave police his plate numbers after confronting him during separate burglaries. One witness even held Burrell at gunpoint but did not shoot as he fled the scene.

He is a suspect in a string of burlaries in four counties along Highway 441 and is currently being held in the Oconee County jail.
