Hall of Famer Don Sutton to have surgery

ATLANTA - Hall of Famer Don Sutton, a broadcaster for the Atlanta Braves, will be out of the booth for 3-to-6 weeks after undergoing surgery next week to remove a growth on his left kidney. <br> <br> The growth was discovered during routine tests last month. Doctors will not be able to determine if it is malignant until a biopsy after its removal. <br> <br> ``It&#39;s just something in there I don&#39;t like. We&#39;ve got to get it out,&#39;&#39; said Sutton, 57. ``In all likelihood, I&#39;m going to have my left kidney removed.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> Sutton, who pitched in four World Series, was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1998. During his 23-year major league career, he played for the Dodgers, Astros, Athletics, Brewers and Angels, compiling a 324-256 record. <br> <br> Former Atlanta second baseman Mark Lemke will fill in with the Braves radio crew, while Joe Simpson will become a full-time analyst for Turner Broadcasting&#39;s telecasts. Skip Caray and Pete Van Wieren will rotate 4.5 innings between television and radio on WSB-AM.
