Indictment alleges six-state prostitution ring

NEW ORLEANS - Fifteen people were indicted Tuesday on federal charges of operating a New Orleans-based prostitution ring that operated in nine cities, including Atlanta. <br> <br> According to an indictment handed up in New Orleans, the ring operated for more than seven years in New York; Pittsburgh; Atlanta; Chicago; Boston; Biloxi, Mississippi; Houston; and Grand Rapids, Michigan. <br> <br> The indictment says prostitutes traveled from state to state, working for different madams, beginning in late 1994. <br> <br> Charges included conspiracy to travel in interstate commerce in aid of a prostitution enterprise, interstate travel in aid of racketeering, conspiring to launder money, money laundering and conspiring to possess marijuana with intent to distribute.
