Experts, officials discuss bioterrorism risks in water systems

MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA - Water quality experts say terrorists are more likely to use airborne agents but the threat against water supplies is real. <br> <br> Forty-eight water experts, mayors, environmentalists, city managers and private water system managers from across the nation met Friday at the Urban Water Summit to discuss ways of protecting the nation&#39;s water systems from attack. <br> <br> Robert Renner, executive director of the American Water Works Association, said cities should be aware that terrorists may say they are targeting the water supply to ``make a big splash.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> But he&#39;s not sure how effective such an attack would be. <br> <br> Renner said an attack on a municipal water system by a radical environmentalist group or a disgruntled worker may be more likely than a state-sponsored attack.
