MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA - Water quality experts say terrorists are more likely to use airborne agents but the threat against water supplies is real.
Forty-eight water experts, mayors, environmentalists, city managers and private water system managers from across the nation met Friday at the Urban Water Summit to discuss ways of protecting the nation's water systems from attack.

Robert Renner, executive director of the American Water Works Association, said cities should be aware that terrorists may say they are targeting the water supply to ``make a big splash.''

But he's not sure how effective such an attack would be.
Renner said an attack on a municipal water system by a radical environmentalist group or a disgruntled worker may be more likely than a state-sponsored attack.
