MIAMI - The FBI is taking to the airwaves in its push for new applicants.
The federal government's prime law enforcement agency is sponsoring traffic reports in eight markets, including Atlanta. The ten-second job ads tell listeners ``There is a place for you at today's FBI.''
Since Monday, radio listeners in Philadelphia, Houston, Atlanta, Washington, Miami, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles have heard the bureau's push for applicants. The FBI recently announced a nationwide goal of hiring more than 900 agents by the end of its fiscal year in September.
The feds say close to one million dollars has been spent in the advertising push. About 40 percent of it is going for newspaper ads and the radio campaign.
The radio ads will run until May 5.
