Thirty-four-year-old Charles Jesse Stone was indicted Monday on sex offense charges involving four women in his custody in 1998 and 1999. District Attorney Kristy said Stone resigned in May 2000 and the following April began working as a probation officer in Georgia.
Corrections spokesman Scott Stallings said Stone was suspended Tuesday by officials in Georgia and will be fired once the corrections department confirms his indictment.
Stone is scheduled to turn himself in to the State Bureau of Investigation by the end of the week.
According to the indictments, Stone is accused of soliciting sex from parolees and probationers in return for reduced penalties. He also is accused of threatening parolees with prison if they didn't perform sex acts, exposing himself to them and touching them inappropriately.
Reached Monday at his home in Marietta, Georgia, Stone said he did not know about the indictments.
