ALBANY - A man charged with shooting and killing a convenience store clerk during a robbery in August 2000 was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison without possibility of parole.

James Anthony Hall is the third of three men to be sentenced in the case. The 19-year-old pleaded guilty Tuesday to 23 charges, including murder, armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Brothers Ricky and Reginald Brown entered their guilty pleas about three weeks after the August 7 slaying of 26-year-old Keith James Burton.

A judge sentence Hall to about 90 years on top of his life sentence.

The victim was shot and killed by the three armed men who spent less than 60 seconds in the store. After Burton was shot, the robbers tried unsuccessfully to open the store's computerized cash register, police say. They left with no money.

The three also are accused in a robbery 20 minutes later at another store, where they allegedly fired at two police officers who chased them. The officers were not injured.
