The purchase includes an 11.64-acre land parcel and a 93,000-square-foot production and warehouse facility. The Gainesville - Deep South employees will become Schreiber employees. The announcement was made jointly by Schreiber Foods President and Chief Executive Officer Larry P. Ferguson, and Winn-Dixie's President and Chief Executive Officer Al Rowland.
"As Schreiber Foods' first production facility in the Southeast, the Deep South acquisition is an important strategic platform for the company's future," said Mr. Ferguson. "It enhances our ability to serve customers
throughout the southeastern United States and Caribbean. This acquisition anchors our ability to serve existing customers and expand our business in the region in the years ahead."
"We see this as a win for both companies and the Deep South Associates," said Rowland.
