JACKSONVILLE - Schreiber Foods Inc. today acquired the assets of the Deep South Products, Inc. plant located in Gainesville, Georgia. Deep South Products is a wholly owned subsidiary of Winn-Dixie.

The purchase includes an 11.64-acre land parcel and a 93,000-square-foot production and warehouse facility. The Gainesville - Deep South employees will become Schreiber employees. The announcement was made jointly by Schreiber Foods President and Chief Executive Officer Larry P. Ferguson, and Winn-Dixie's President and Chief Executive Officer Al Rowland.

"We see this as a win for both companies and the Deep South Associates," said Rowland.
