Baldwin County man charged with killing his wife

MILLEDGEVILLE - A 46-year-old Baldwin County man has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of his estranged wife. <br>
<br>
Sheriff's deputies found Wayne Evans standing over the body of his wife, 32-year-old Pearl Evans. The couple had been separated. <br>
<br>
Sheriff's Detective Scott Goodwin says the couple began arguing after Wayne Evans went to his see his wife Tuesday night. <br>
<br>
Wayne Evans also suffered knife wounds on his wrists, neck and upper chest. Police say Evans begged deputies to kill him. <br>
<br>
He was in stable condition yesterday at a hospital. <br>
<br>
Evans also was charged with two counts of child cruelty, because Pearl Evans' nine- and ten-year-old sons were home at the time of the slaying. <br>
<br>
Pearl Evans worked as a newspaper carrier for The Macon Telegraph.
