AUGUSTA - The Garden City will be in full bloom when the crowds descend on Augusta next week for the 66th Masters Tournament.
Work crews from the city's Trees and Landscape Department have been planting grass and azaleas to get ready for the major golf tournament.

And volunteers for Metro Augusta Clean and Beautiful have been picking up litter along the city's streets and highways.
With the Federal Aviation Administration's permission, Augusta Regional Airport is offering expanded parking and curbside access.

Security guards set up a checkpoint yesterday and began searching all vehicles as part of a plan to handle Masters Week traffic.

Cars can stop -- but still not park -- along the length of the terminal's curb.

The airport has temporarily hired 24 private security guards and will spend as much as 37-thousand dollars, 500 to conduct the vehicle searches until April 17th.
