GHS tennis teams, Johnson girls victorious

The Gainesville tennis teams continued their winning ways Wednesday, sweeping Gilmer County in Gainesville.<br>
<br>
The Lady Elephants won 4-1, while the Gainesville boys scored another shut out, 5-0 over the Bobcat boys.<br>
<br>
The Gainesville girls (8-1) got wins at number one and number three singles from Lauren Weiss and Heather Henry. Gilmer's Devin Mullin won at number two.<br>
<br>
Gainesville swept the doubles with the teams of Leigh Ann Gross/Michelle Fuller and Emily Brooksher/Meg Henson posting wins.<br>
<br>
The male Elephants got singles wins from Grant Patrick, Ben Stewart, and Matt Fowler.<br>
<br>
The doubles teams of Mark Easley/Drew Turner and John Nott/Jim Simons also picked up wins for the GHS boys (9-0, 4-0 in Region 7-AAA).<br>
<br>
The Johnson girls also continued their fine play shutting out Forsyth Central 5-0 in Forsyth County Wednesday.<br>
<br>
The Lady Knights got singles wins from Kristin Fouts, Jamie Green, and Taylor Day. The dubs teams of Lori Vaughn/Mary Phillips and Tiffany Fouts/Melissa Dibben added wins for Johnson (9-1).<br>
<br>
The Bulldogs turned the tables on the male Knights, winning 5-0.<br>
<br>
Johnson is slated to host Gilmer Thursday.<br>
