AUGUSTA - Thomas Bjorn of Denmark set a Masters record Friday with birdies on his first five holes of the second round.
Bjorn, who opened the tournament with a 74, broke the mark of four straight to start a round at Augusta National.
Ken Venturi had four in a row to begin the first round of the 1956 Masters. Paul Harney started the fourth round of the '68 event the same way.
Bjorn had another birdie string on the back nine, putting together three in a row starting at Number 12. For the tournament, he was three under par through 15 holes.
Bjorn, a regular on the European PGA Tour, has never fared well at the Masters. In three previous appearances, he missed the cut twice and was tied for 28th the other year.
